We’ve been fortunate to welcome several newcomers during the pandemic. How amazing to experience church not as a building but a gathered people of God!
One of our new members is fine artist Eden Gallanter. Eden was inspired during the pandemic to create two beautiful paintings and gift them to St Francis as a gesture of thanksgiving for the warm and welcoming faith community she has discovered among us. Her works feature a stained-glass style of drawing and painting, and embody the timeless beauty, divine illumination and peace she has always associated with historic churches. She describes the windows as set like jewels in heavy stone, wooden, and stucco walls.
Eden’s generous gift prompts us to reflect on how we each might use our gifts to help St.Francis. This year, rather than organize a gala/auction to benefit the parish operating fund, we are asking our fellow parishioners to donate generously toward these two paintings to be hung at St. Francis. Many of us have discovered that in the pandemic we personally don’t want to accumulate more “stuff”, and that instead, we seek a simpler, more deliberate approach to living. Keeping that in mind, we hope you will partner with us in helping get St. Francis’ financial home in order by making an extra gift today.
Thank you so much for your generosity and supporting St Francis as a way of returning to God a portion of what has been given to you. Please click here to go to our Coming Home donation page.
